The faceless hero

This is for the faceless hero
The hidden life of the everyday soldier
The man who battles through an icy cold cubicle existence
Of a life in continual resistance

To the everyday person walking on streets of displacement
Carrying the weight of misplaced hate,
Misplaced fear,
Subjected to misplaced violence
and stripped of misplaced years

I marvel at those that turn down the ale of spite
but dine on fruits of kindness, Love and joy
Flying the flag of hope in a world devoid

I take delight in the rare breed that choose to see beauty in simplicity
and immune themselves from the Hate disease by
lifting their eyes to a higher plain and
to there they take flight

The warriors of Love that reject plots of revenge
and turn their cheek so the hate can end

I salute the lowly that sacrifice self gain
and step out consciously to teach others to Love again

Through all the struggle the everyday soldiar
Struggles on
Everyday
